Software development for insurance businesses.
Northline Assembly develops policy applications, submission forms and data connections for insurance agencies, brokers and insurers.
Applications built around the way your team works
We build and maintain software for policy administration, new-business submissions and renewals. The work can be a new portal, a change to an existing application or an integration between systems your team already uses.
We work through the screens, records and business rules with the people responsible for them. A policy amendment, a corrected attachment and a saved submission each need clear behavior in the application.
How we build policy applicationsOur software services
Policy applications
Build or improve the screens used to manage policy terms, endorsements, locations and supporting documents. We work on new applications and changes to existing systems.
Submission forms
Give applicants a clear way to provide the information your team requests. We develop forms, saved drafts, document uploads and the screens used to review submissions.
Data connections
Connect your applications or migrate records to a replacement system. We map the policy, term and document references, resolve exceptions and check the imported records in the destination.
A policy change and its documents
A later document may correct an earlier endorsement. This example shows how a policy screen can retain both the effective date and the date each file arrived.
Policy term begins
- Effective date
- January 1
- Document received
- January 1
The application holds the locations and documents associated with the start of this term.
Submission fields with the context intact
A reviewer needs to know which period a revenue figure covers and which premises an area measurement describes. These field examples show the details a form needs to retain.

Improving an existing system
The work can concern one screen, a connection between systems or a larger replacement. The first discussion should identify the application, the insurance records it holds and the part that needs attention.
For an existing system, that includes the changes already made to it. A document folder, an export and a user’s view of the policy may each contain a different piece of the history. We establish which information the new work must preserve before defining the change.
Development, testing, deployment and maintenance arrangements are agreed for the system concerned. Software rules come from the insurance business; the application must make those rules understandable to the people using it.
